Two men on a motorcycle died after being hit by a car near Bhajanpura Metro station in Delhi. The car driver has been arrested, and an investigation is underway.
Delhi Police have arrested two men for allegedly carrying out a daylight armed robbery of over Rs 10.65 lakh in Shastri Nagar. The suspects, an uncle and nephew, were apprehended after a four-day manhunt and confessed to the crime.
One of the worst-hit areas was Bhajanpura where a petrol pump and two school buses were torched on a road near Yamuna Vihar border by mobs during the conflagration.
Shops and schools remained closed and streets wore a deserted look as sporadic violence continued since Monday with mobs running amok, looting shops and setting properties on fire.
The Yamuna surged to a record 208.48 metres at 8 am, the Central Water Commission said on Thursday, adding that it is likely to rise to 208.75 metres by 4 pm.
